Hi Andrey, Good question. We had some concerns initially about how to fairly share work, but as we went along we discovered it was not much of an issue. At one point, we got an urgent direct client job in a language combination for which we had 4 translators, but only 2 happened to be partially available at the time and ended up splitting the job.

I have seen more synergy effects than competition issues. Either people have different specializations that complement one another or people who do the same kinds of texts have the ability to proofread for each other and fill in for each other during vacations and illness.

Thanks for a good article. I wonder if there are any competition issues between several translators with the same language pair in your group. How do you handle that?
